SPECIAL VISITOR

We were VERY lucky to have Norm Hewitt and Whaea Shelley from the SPCA visit our school last week and our class was EXTRA lucky to have some one on one time with him after his presentation. He talked to us about doing the Haka in front of thousands of people and how he grew up. It was so cool listening to him and he was SUPER funny.

JACK POL

Jack is a student who works conscientiously and gets on with the job at hand. I was really impressed with his Role Model biography. It was well researched and was written in his own words. I found it interesting and easy to read. Keep working hard Jack - and thank you for being a student who is always willing to help out.

Student of the Week - Week 3

This week I have selected Hamish Insley. His overall classroom effort is outstanding, I was impressed with the effort he made during our first Haka training on Thursday. He is also auditioning for a part in the school production this year. Hamish is always polite and helpful and works hard in all his subjects. He shows leadership qualities and takes pride in being a positive role model. Well done Hamish, enjoy your tuckshop lunch!

RYAN - Well done Ryan. You have been chosen because of your high quality work samples, I appreciate your quiet manner in class and how you have taken on a leadership role with lunchtime soccer (whoops Football) :)  Thank you for being an exemplary student and doing the right thing at the right time.

YoYo Fitness Test 2012

We are currently completing lots of different fitness tests this term to find out where our strengths are and areas that we need to work on to increase our fitness levels. So far we have completed the 12 Minute Run, the Stork Stand, Alternate Hand Catch, Plank/Bridge, Sit Ups, Illinois Agility Run, Beep Test, YoYo Intermittent Recovery Test, and Wall Squat. We still need to complete the 40m Sprint and the Standing Broad Jump. It has been awesome to see what we are capable of!

Go Bush Walk - 13km!

They got knocked down but they got up again! Walking into Go Bush was very wet and muddy which resulted in lots of crashes and tumbles!

Term Two - Week One

MASON ELLIOTT!

Mason has been selected this week due to his AMAZING efforts last term with the reading competition. A fantastic 23 books read in one term. Also Mason is a young man who is always well mannered, offers to help out when needed, takes pride in his schoolwork and generally just gets on with the job. Keep up the great work Mason. Who will be next week?

Term Two

Hi Everyone, Welcome back to Term Two!! We have a load of exciting events planned this term as well as lots of interesting learning! Things to look forward to...Proportions & Ratios (Fractions) :), Rugby, Role Models, Science Fair, Speeches, Fitness, Squash, $100 Reading Competition, Times Tables Challenge, League Maths, Novel Study....whew!!! SO much to do in so little time! We are also starting a 'Student of the Week Competition, so check here each week to find out who the top student in Room 2 is!

Our class was lucky enough to have THREE teams enter these trials, Cole & Te Rautau, Hopa & Tyson and Jovahn & Beau.

(Of course there were girls in their teams also.)
